Intro
The global textile industry, a significant driver of economic prosperity and employment, is now navigating a critical turning point. Heightened scrutiny of its environmental and social impacts, coupled with increasing consumer demand for transparency and responsibility, and evolving global regulations, necessitates a fundamental shift towards sustainable and ethical practices.
PHDCCI has successfully spearheaded this crucial dialogue through three impactful editions of the Sustainable Textile Summit. The 3rd edition, inaugurated by the Hon'ble Minister of State, Shri Pabitra Margherita, on 17th September 2024, centered on "Sustainable Solutions for a Global Textile Future" and effectively convened key industry stakeholders to address challenges and identify actionable solutions for the Indian textile sector.
Building upon this strong foundation, the 4th Sustainable Textile Summit broadens its scope with a distinct global perspective. Anchored by the compelling theme "Global Threads: Scaling Innovation for Sustainable and Responsible Textiles," the summit aims to elevate the conversation beyond national borders, fostering vital international collaboration to build a truly sustainable and responsible global textile ecosystem.
This year's edition will gather a diverse and influential cohort from across the entire global textile value chain – encompassing leading international brands, pioneering manufacturers, ground breaking innovators, influential policymakers, and engaged civil society organizations. Together, they will share invaluable best practices, showcase transformative cutting-edge innovations, navigate the complexities of evolving regulatory frameworks, and forge the essential collaborative partnerships required to achieve meaningful and long-term sustainability goals for the global textile industry.
